B ack to work in the morning

by happylady1 @ Sunday, 30. Sep, 2007 - 14:24:17

Alas its come to the end of my holiday from work. Back on the wheel in the morning till Christmas.

Had a busy weekend. Went out with some people from work on Friday for a birthday/leaving bash. There was a group playing who were very good and we had an excellent night out. Last night we went to Leeds for my hubby's work do and we went from a Thai meal. To be honest I didn't really enjoy it, too much slop for me but we had a good night.

Trying to get my washing sorted now but can't pull myself off the computer. Will be making a Sunday dinner at teatime which I'm looking forward to. Hubby's gone down to his allotment so am having some quality, chilling time and have been surfing the net for flights for next year's holiday.

Got quite a busy week ahead. Just joined a reading group and we're meeting for the first time on Thursday. Book we've been reading is the Time Traveller's Wife which is an excellent read. Then on Friday going to an Ann Summer's party which should be enlightening.

Bye for now.

Home again

by happylady1 @ Friday, 28. Sep, 2007 - 16:27:38

Hi all

Back from a week in Lanzarote. We stayed for the 4th time at a great apartment complex and had an ace time. So good in fact that I'm just in the process of booking again for next year.

The weather has been fantastic. I don't like going in the middle of the summer as its too hot for me but September is great. We stay at Los Cristianos and there's so much to do there. Fantastic restaurants, quiet bars, loud bars, music bars, quizzes you name it they've got it.

The staff at our accommodation are great and as soon as we get there we feel relaxed.

Anyway now we're back home there's grey clouds, its cold and I can't show my tan off but never mind its only 12 weeks till Christmas.

Got a busy weekend. Going to 2 parties tonight. Then tomorrow we're off on a works night out all expenses paid which will be great. We're going to a Thai restaurant so am looking forward to that

Well got to go and get some washing done now. See you soon.

Here comes the sun

by happylady1 @ Wednesday, 19. Sep, 2007 - 19:31:25

Yippee finished work today for just over a week. Am off to the sunny skies of Lanzarote tomorrow, can't wait. Just finished packing. Got my girly get ready time to do (girls you know what I mean). Have just joined a book club and am taking Time Traveller's Wife to read whilst I'm lounging on my sun bed.

Work's been ok this week. Christmas party venue being booked - not everyone's happy about the time/location but you can't always please everyone.

Went to watch the dogs with some friends last night. Our friends won 2 races we didn't even win one.

Don't think anyone else has applied for job that I'm interested in. Hopefully will get an interview date for when I come back as the closing date for the job is this Friday.

Off to watch Coronation Street now. See you in a week B)

Got a leak

by happylady1 @ Monday, 17. Sep, 2007 - 21:32:14

Wouldn't you know it, a couple of days before we go on holiday and we find we've got a leaky stop tap. Had a new kitchen fitted a couple of weeks ago. Knew we'd probably get some kind of problem after just in time for our hols and yes its happened. Hubby says it'll be ok till we get back but I'll be worried now all the time we're away.

Going to the dogs tomorrow night. Years since I last went. Used to go regularly with my dad and brother when I was young.

Been watching a programme tonight about Madeline. Just wish they'd find her one way or another but somehow I don't think they will. Interesting to hear that there's strong similarities with another child who went missing in Portugal and the mother of the child was convicted of murdering her. Mother was beaten during interview with Police and says this is the reason for her confession. Certainly makes you wonder.

Back to work tomorrow

by happylady1 @ Sunday, 16. Sep, 2007 - 15:06:53

Hi,

Hope you've had a good weekend, mine's been great.

Went out for lunch with my mum yesterday. It's her birthday tomorrow (65) so lunch was on me, had a nice chat. After lunch we went to a garden centre which mum loves to do and she got even more plants for her garden. My hubby and son went to see their football team play and they won 3-1 which as any football supporter's wife will tell you is good news if you want a happy Saturday night.

My brother and his wife came for drinks last night and I'm so proud of him cos he told me that he's written a book and its been published. It's going to be on sale next spring and I can't wait to read it. Its about the Lake District in England which he is absolutely crazy about. He and his wife spend every holiday there and I'm sure one day they'll probably buy somewhere there to live - especially if he makes enough profit from his book to move there.

On Thursday me and hubby are going to Lanzarote for a week's holiday. We can't wait. Next job this afternoon is to get started on the packing. I love holidays, just to lie in the sun and read a book is bliss.

Applied for a job that I've been doing for a year as a temporary worker so probably will have an interview to go through when I get back but am putting that on my mind's back burner.

Its been a beautiful weekend weather wise. Managed to put some plants in the garden. We've got an allotment so we're pretty self sufficient at the moment and its great eating your home grown veg.

Looking forward to Sunday dinner tonight. My daughter and her boyfriend are going to be eating with us and its nice to sit down with them for a chat and find out what's going on with their lives.

My life is truly bliss at the moment hope your's is too. :DD

Hello blog

by happylady1 @ Friday, 14. Sep, 2007 - 17:38:05

Hi, I'm happylady1 and I've decided to let you into my world. Its not exciting but its varied. I'll let you know what's going on in my life.

Lets start then. Today's my day off and its been varied. As usual on a Friday I started my day by having a read before getting up. At the moment I'm reading a book called God's Callgirl and its very interesting.

I went to the hairdressers this morning and Sarah did a lovely job with my hair. This afternoon I've been to the shops, done a bit of cleaning, been planting some autumn plants and I've submitted an application form for a job. I've been a temporary worker through a job bureau for the past year and the job I've been doing has come up on a fixed term contract. Fingers crossed for me. I love where I work and hope that I get the job.

Going to make a spaghetti bolognaise for tea and then watching TV tonight.

See you soon.
